Legal Secretary – Oakland, CA
A well-established education law practice is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support multiple attorneys in its Oakland office. This role requires a highly organized, proactive professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain strict confidentiality while delivering high-quality legal and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- File management and document production
- Extensive e-filing in administrative, state, and federal courts
- Drafting, proofreading, and editing correspondence
- Communicating with clients, courts, and attorneys
- Managing legal calendaring systems and multiple attorney schedules
- Coordinating travel arrangements and expense reimbursements
- Applying knowledge of state and federal court rules and civil procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a litigation legal secretary supporting multiple attorneys
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal timekeeping/document management systems
- Transactional law and administrative hearing experience is a plus
