We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting the veterinarian in various medical procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our patients and supporting pet owners through their veterinary experience. This position requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal husbandry, along with a passion for animal care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the veterinarian in examinations, surgeries, and treatments of animals.
- Perform routine Idexx laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, including digital X-rays.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal health during procedures and recovery, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques.
- Provide animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic environment.
- Care for hospitalized animals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in veterinary settings is preferred; certification as a Veterinary Technician is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal husbandry practices.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols and procedures.
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques to ensure safe handling during examinations or treatments.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is essential.
