Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal restraint, handling, and care during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, and laboratory spaces through proper cleaning and sanitation protocols
- Help with record keeping by accurately documenting patient information, treatments, medication logs, and laboratory results
- Handle animals safely using proper animal husbandry techniques and ensure their comfort and welfare at all times
- Support laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing under supervision
- Fill medications as required by veterinarians
Experience
- Previous kennel or animal handling experience preferred
- Veterinary technician or assistant experience highly desirable
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, surgical procedures, and critical care practices is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach toward pet owners
