POSITION SUMMARY
The birth center technician/registrar performs clerical, interdepartmental, and general communications under the direction of the professional nurse in charge of the patient care unit. The birth center technician/registrar may at times function in the role of a nurse assistant.

Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and practice of clerical skills and submits birth certificates to the state within the required time frame.
Demonstrates shared accountability with appropriate interaction with health care team by relaying pertinent information to the appropriate staff in a timely manner to ensure patient safety.

REQUIRED REGISTRATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Applicable Resuscitation and other position-related certifications must be obtained within the timeframe established by SRHC policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers up to 50 pounds

Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Manual dexterity and mobility
Near acuity: ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less
