ST Solutions is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team at our corporate headquarters in Salem, VA. ST Solutions is a leader in providing industrial companies with procurement and inventory management programs. Founded in 1970 as a cutting tool distributor, we have evolved into a full-line distributor adept at providing a total MRO solution.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing general ledger functions including preparing journal entries, performing account analysis, reconciliation of accounts, and assisting with financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and post journal entries into the general ledger system
· Perform general ledger account analysis
· Process adjustments and bank deposits
· Provide management reporting
· Perform monthly close procedures, and prepare month-end reports
· Prepare financial expense reporting and research
· Prepare business license and personal property tax returns
· Register company in new states and localities
· Request and maintain vendor W-9 data
· Perform 1099 reporting and filing
· Assist with internal audits, and is responsible for the timely close out of internal audit findings
· Sale tax experience for multi-state filing
Position Requirements:
· Must have a 4-year degree in accounting or business, or a 2-year degree with equivalent experience
· Minimum of 3 years in accounting with a background in overall general ledger functions
· Must have a proficient knowledge of computers and related software
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
· Must have leadership capabilities
· Excellent problem-solving capabilities
· Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to details
· Must be able to handle multiple tasks
· Ability and desire to be a team player
· Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and Company personnel
· Must have a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
