Position Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week, Non-Exempt
Start time: Both day and night shifts available, Rotating weekends
Your role with us
As a vital member of the health care team, you will ensure the safe and timely transport of patients throughout the hospital, supporting clinical staff and enhancing the patient experience. Your role combines compassionate, patient-centered care with close attention to safety protocols, equipment handling, and infection prevention. By providing efficient transport services and maintaining essential equipment, you play a key role in smooth hospital operations and patient comfort.
What you'll do
- Ensure the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients to their destination via bed, stretcher, or wheelchair.
- Safely transfer patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair and back.
- Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
Required qualifications
- The right candidate will possess the ability to learn, understand and apply knowledge of basic transport concepts, infection control practices and proper body mechanics.
- Must be able to perform essential physical tasks such as walking, standing, lifting, bending, and reaching for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Additional information
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Two years of patient transport or patient care experience is preferred. Customer service experience may be considered in lieu of direct patient care.
