Project Controls Specialist

The local office for this position is in New York, NY in the heart of times square with approximately 100 employees. We serve a variety of markets and employ engineers in the civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, industrial, and fire protection disciplines.
Summary
The Project Controls Specialist will provide general project setup, contract life cycle management, planning, scheduling, cost analysis, billings, subcontracting, and monitoring for engineering projects and programs.
General Duties:
- Oversight, administration, and management of new and existing engineering projects throughout the project life cycle.
- Plans and establishes cost and schedule work breakdown structures (WBS) and metrics, collects performance data (expended labor hours and additional progress measurement indicators), tracks data, productivity and risk analysis, and reports findings to technical, project managers, and management.
- Work with project leads for project setup.
- Data entry of funding modifications and value.
- Works with contracting officers as needed for contract admin support.
- Charge code management.
- Invoicing
- Contract modification coordination.
- Subcontract creation/management
- Assisting with clerical functions as needed.
- Planning meetings and taking detailed minutes.
- Other administrative support to managers, other employees, and office visitors by handling a variety of tasks to ensure that all interactions between the organization and others are positive and productive.

Qualifications
- Associates of Arts (AA) Degree in Business, Finance or other similar business trade or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of the contract lifecycle preferred not required.
- Should have good experience with MS Excel.
- Must be proficient in other MS Office products, Acrobat, e-mail applications.
- Experience in using Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Defense Security Service, Federal Government Agencies, and other State and Local Authorities.
