Position Title: Men's Rugby Head Coach
Reports to: Director of Rugby, Athletic Director, and Director of Club Sports
Supervises: Students, Assistant Coaches (if applicable)
Primary Function: The Men's Rugby Head Coach is responsible for leading the Men's Rugby Team at Saint Vincent College and overseeing all aspects of the men's rugby program. This role focuses on developing - students, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring the overall success and growth of the men's rugby program. The position requires leadership in coaching, recruitment, program management, and community engagement, aligning the rugby program with the college's mission and values.
Required Qualifications: Significant experience in rugby coaching and program management. Strong leadership skills with a commitment to the academic and athletic success of students. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, or working toward a degree.
Experience: Experience in rugby, either as a player, coach, or administrator. Experience in recruiting and developing prospective students.

Essential Duties
- Coaching and Training: Lead the Men's Rugby Team by planning and conducting practices focused on skill development, strategy, and conditioning. Prepare the team for competitive play, including game day coaching and tactical adjustments.
- Program Oversight: Provide strategic leadership and daily management of the men’s rugby program. Ensure alignment with the college's mission and goals.
- Recruitment: Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract prospective students who meet the college's academic and athletic standards. Oversee the recruitment process, including campus visits and admissions support, in close collaboration with the Director of Club Sports.
- Team Building and Culture: Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and mutual respect. Plan and facilitate team-building activities to enhance team cohesion.
- Community and Alumni Engagement: Promote the rugby program within the college and local community. Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, donors, and supporters. Organize events such as alumni games, fundraising activities, and community service projects.
- Game Day and Event Management: Oversee the organization and execution of home games, tournaments, and other rugby-related events. Ensure a professional and efficient game day experience for players, staff, and spectators.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all rugby activities comply with college, conference, and national governing body regulations. Promote a safe and supportive environment for all students, prioritizing their well-being during practices, games, and team activities.
