The Nutritionist RD will:
- Identify patients at nutritional risk
- Assess assigned patients and completing accurate documentation
- Implement a nutritional care plan based on the assessment and needs of the patient
- Provide nutrition education to patients/family members
- Conduct community and/or patient education classes
- Advise Physicians and all related Medical Personnel in areas of nutrition
- Participate in Quality Assessments, i.e. completing chart reviews as assigned
- Assist with the development of in-service programs and updating Nutrition Care Manuel/patient education materials
- Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Verbal and written ability required to comprehend and document dietetic practices, principles and theories, as well as to communicate effectively with Medical Personnel and Health Care Team Members and patients.
- Numerical ability required to compute dietetic values of food.
- Experience with high-risk obstetric patients preferred.
- Registered Dietitian with the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) Certification required or verification statement of completion of dietetic internship.
