Description
The Facilities Student Employment supports the Facilities Department in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional campus environment during the summer months. This position assists with a variety of tasks including groundskeeping, light maintenance, painting, and general campus upkeep.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with campus grounds maintenance (mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, etc.)
- Support custodial tasks such as cleaning common areas, residence halls, and offices
- Help with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies across campus
- Perform basic maintenance tasks (painting, minor repairs, preventative upkeep)
- Collect and dispose of trash
- Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards or maintenance issues
- Provide general support to Facilities staff as needed
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current college student at SMWC & enrolled for fall ‘26
- Must be in foo standing financially with the College
- Must work 20 hours per week and will be housed in the Lake House on campus
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- May require early mornings, occasional evenings, or weekend hours
