JOB SUMMARY
The Security Officer (unarmed) performs duties that ensure the safety and security of the Saint Louis University community members by performing security duties at specifically assigned posts.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Controls access to the building in compliance with policy and process
- Monitors and reports all conditions that create security or safety hazards for building occupants and guests
- Assists in building occupants and guests as required while complying with established policies and processes
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of security reporting and procedures
- Knowledge of general security functions and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work assigned schedule
- Ability to maintain honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and professional relationships
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- One to two years related experience
- Successful completion of a drug screen & background check
- Must possess or be able to obtain upon hire an unarmed security/officer license with St. Louis City/County Police Private Security Division; must maintain Licensure throughout the tenure of the position
- Must be 21 years of age
