Summary: Administer the Museum’s robust benefit programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, life insurance, AD&D, disability, HSAs, FSAs and ancillary life benefits. Administer FMLA, parental leave, other leaves, ADA, and Workers’ Comp for Museum. Manage the Museum’s wellness program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Benefits

  • Monitor employee benefit enrollments and vendor records to ensure accurate coverage and billing at all times.
  • Conduct employee benefit orientation for newly eligible employees.
  • Lead Open Enrollment planning and execution.
  • Primary point-of-contact for benefits-related communication with vendor contacts and service representatives. Work with broker and vendors to resolve employee coverage and claims issues or unique escalated service needs.
  • Primary point of contact for benefits-related questions from Museum employees.
  • Assist HR Director with evaluating and monitoring current benefit programs and the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommend improvement and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities for compliance and metrics purposes.
Leave & ADA Management

  • Administer FMLA, to include accurate documentation, timely notices, and tracking/reporting time usage.
  • Track ADA requests and accommodations; ensure legal compliance.
  • Assist employees with leaves and accommodations, offering empathy, support, and guidance through the various processes.
Workers’ Comp

  • Manage claims to ensure timely reporting and payment.
  • Track leaves, light duty, and related accommodations, working with managers and employees to support prompt return to full health and duty.
Wellness Engagement Program

  • Manage the wellness portion of the program, including planning and executing an annual Wellness Fair and other events designed to develop and support healthful habits of the Museum’s staff.
  • Partner with the Museum’s Wellness platform consultants and other partners to design and deliver a robust program built on education and activities for staff.
  • Create content for bimonthly newsletter.
Additional Duties

  • Prepare and deliver benefits and wellness-related information at monthly All Staff meeting.
  • Assist with and participate in all HR-sponsored events.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government regulations, benefit program market trends, and prevailing practices among other non-profits and museums.
  • Complete reports, and compensation and benefits surveys as directed.
  • Partner with others to update bulletin boards with timely and engaging information on a monthly basis.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma and two years’ experience working in employee benefits is required.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits-related laws and best practices, with an emphasis on leave management, is necessary.
  • Experience with Human Capital Management software is essential; Dayforce preferred.
  • Intermediate to high working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to establish, maintain and follow effective working processes and meet deadlines.
  • People-oriented with ability to build effective working relationships with the public and other employees.
Additional Details:
Hiring Range: $25.23– $30.90, commensurate with experience
Status: Regular, Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
