About Us:
St. Joseph Abbey and Seminary College (SJASC) are located one hour from both New Orleans and Baton Rouge on 1,100 acres of beautiful pine forests and savannahs bordered by the Bogue Falaya River, just outside the city limits of Covington, LA. Saint Joseph Abbey was founded in 1889 and is a Benedictine community of monks. The Saint Joseph Seminary College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and the Schools Commission on Colleges and is known throughout the Gulf South Region and the United States.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) you will be responsible for the management and coordination of all special events and alumni affairs on behalf of the Abbey and Seminary College. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in providing our donors, patrons, and current and future partners with enjoyable, entertaining and excellent experiences at our various events held throughout the year. Additionally, as the coordinator for Alumni Affairs, you will provide administrative duties and coordinate activities related to the Alumni Association. This is an on-site position and will require work outside of normal business hours when working special events and activities.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Identify, cultivate, secure and steward corporate and local business sponsorships.
- Coordinate and execute all special events, working closely with the CAO and other functional departments and team members. Track attendees, funds received, donations, etc., and provide associated reports.
- Coordinate activities associated with Alumni Affairs, supporting the CAO in securing donations, building relationships and providing support for fundraising campaigns.
- Coordinate donor tours and other scheduled visits to promote cultivation and stewardship of donors including Alumni.
- Execute all job duties in a professional, confidential and cohesive manner throughout SJASC.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a dead-line driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field preferred; will consider equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in all aspects of event planning, donor relations, corporate sponsorship, and proficiency in related software programs and platforms.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week on campus Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 4:00 pm. Some events will require additional hours, weekend or evening work. Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
