Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process
- Responsible for correct blood collection; draw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques; ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens
- Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing; ensure all specimens are properly processed and stored
- Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results
- Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is in working order and properly sanitized
- Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience
