St. Francis Village, a gated independent senior living community just south of Fort Worth, is seeking to hire an Event Coordinator. The exceptional individual is cheerful, high energy, optimistic, organized, creative, self-motivated, and loves to enrich the lives of individuals 62 and older. This position is specifically responsible for planning and implementing meaningful activities for our residents with an emphasis on the eight dimensions of wellness: social, environmental, physical, emotional, spiritual, enrichment, intellectual, and financial.

The Event Coordinator provides life enrichment activities that are essential to the satisfaction of our residents and to helping people live life to its fullest. Because our residents deserve the best, this position is held to a high standard for quality and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Identify, plan, and execute activities that include special events, field trips, entertainment, and community outreach, on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

· Plan, coordinate, and implement tasteful decoration routinely as well as for special events, holidays, and seasons

· Work cooperatively with other departments and volunteers to plan for large events

· Assist with the development of the departmental budget and monitor monthly expenses

· Oversee ordering supplies and equipment necessary to implement life enrichment programs

· Communicate and coordinate with external vendors for special activities including caterers and entertainers

· Schedule and oversee department meetings and report on activities and events

· Inform residents of daily activities through various mechanisms including print and digital

· Responsible for volunteer policies and coordinating volunteers for events

· Manage and ensure adequate coverage for events including ones on holidays and weekends

· Coordinate transportation for group outings such as shopping, activities, and doctor trips

· Facilitate welcoming new residents to the community and perform new resident orientation

· Listen to residents’ suggestions, problems, complaints, and ideas regarding activities

· Document the history of the community with photographs and scrapbooks

Qualifications:

· 2 years of demonstrated experience as an Event Coordinator or in Senior Living enrichment

· Experience in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and or Memory Care

· State of Texas Activity Certification or willingness to obtain certification

· Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to maintain composure under stress

· Proficient in Microsoft 365 especially Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Experience in creating flyers, monthly newsletters, and calendars

· Experience with Canva preferred

· Must be willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events

· Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed

· A valid driver’s license; must undergo background and motor vehicle checks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
