The Quality Manager serves as a cross-functional team leader, working closely with internal departments and external customers to ensure compliance with quality, reliability, and safety standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with AS9100/ISO 9001 and other regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing..... (include but are not limited to)
- Establish and maintain procedures for high standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
- Enforce quality and safety requirements in accordance with company needs and regulatory standards.
- Organize and promote companywide quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop improved techniques for controlling quality, reliability, and safety processes.
- Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s QMS; report system performance to senior leadership.
- Act as the primary liaison with external parties on quality-related matters.
- Oversee APQP activities, including the development and documentation of Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP submissions.
- Direct preparation and maintenance of Quality Control work instructions, statistical programs, and training for plant personnel in the use of statistical methods.
- Manage corrective action processes, RMA material reporting/disposal procedures, and control charting to improve product quality.
- Supervise the Quality Control Technicians, Lab operations, and AS/ISO Administrator to ensure product compliance with customer standards.
- Monitor and review internal processes to maintain alignment with customer, internal, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely inspection and calibration of measuring devices and oversee customer corrective action requests.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, programming, and manufacturing teams to develop and meet product requirements.
- Lead quality improvement efforts by identifying opportunities, implementing new methods, and fostering growth and succession planning within the quality department.
What Qualifications you bring.....
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent years of experience).
- 4–5 years of senior-level Quality Engineering experience, including 5 years in management or leadership roles.
- Proficiency in SPC, APQP, PPAP (Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plans, Gage R&R, Capability Analysis).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools in an automotive or similar manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, analyze results, and implement solutions.
- Skilled in building credibility and trust, influencing leaders, and collaborating across all organizational levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Minitab statistical analysis software.
