Corporate Accountant
Location: Charlotte, NC (South End) – Onsite
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to support financial reporting, consolidation accounting, fixed asset accounting, lease accounting (ASC 842), technical accounting research, and internal controls. This role will serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors, tax service providers, and risk management teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a complex manufacturing environment, a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, and proficiency with ERP systems, financial consolidations, and advanced Excel reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Consolidations
- Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and lease accounting records.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including intercompany eliminations and consolidations.
- Coordinate with domestic and international business units to ensure consistent accounting practices and reporting accuracy.
- Support financial reporting requirements for corporate and parent company reporting.
Technical Accounting & Compliance
- Research and analyze complex accounting matters and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and policy updates.
- Prepare technical accounting memos and supporting documentation.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Serve as a primary contact for external auditors during annual audits.
- Support internal control initiatives and process improvements.
- Partner with internal teams to strengthen governance, compliance, and risk management processes.
Tax & Risk Management
- Coordinate with outsourced tax providers to support tax compliance and reporting.
- Collaborate with risk management teams regarding insurance, claims, and financial reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting or public accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and consolidations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and Power Query.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
Preferred
- CPA certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Public accounting or Big 4 experience.
- Experience with OneStream or similar consolidation/reporting systems.
- Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) and fixed asset accounting.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
