Description

SAIC seeks an experienced and energetic project manager to directly support the modernization of the space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, providing range capabilities, and supporting the Digital Transformation and Maintenance Modernization (DTAMM) program. The overarching purpose of the program is to perform system modernization and digital transformation projects that will enable the acceleration of the space launch cadence to enable the Spaceport of the future. This position is located in Santa Maria, CA.

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing a group of project managers responsible for the execution of complex projects from inception to completion. The Project Manager Lead will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead a group of project managers, providing direction and support as needed.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
• Identify and manage project risks and issues.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary, keeping stakeholders informed of any significant changes.
• Develop and deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  
  

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) years of experience or master’s degree and thirteen (13) years of experience.
• Experience with capability deployment on the space launch ranges.
• Experience managing large-scale modernization projects, to include cost estimating and management, schedule development, performance monitoring and reporting.
• Strong understanding of financial management.
• Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar tools.
• Experience delivering multiple simultaneous modernization initiatives.
• Experience managing teams/projects acquiring, maintaining, and sustaining integrated solutions for space launch or other national security space mission systems.
• Experience in systems engineering.
• Must be able to interface with all levels of functional/division acquisition offices to accomplish projects for the government program office.
  
  

Desired Education, Experience, And Qualifications

• Master of Science in engineering, science, or related technical field.
• Certifications in PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Experience in large Government systems acquisition.
• Thorough understanding of space systems design, integration and test requirements and test execution, including test equipment support.
  
  

Target salary range $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
