Job description
Position Summary:
Responsible for all incoming and outbound shipments, and coordination of local pickup and deliveries for the Delivery Driver. Coordinates all safety efforts, including training and certification of forklift driving policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
It includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Direct and manage day-to-day operational duties of the shipping and receiving department
- Direct and manage the day-to-day duties of driver/shipping clerk (s)
- Consult with and provide input to upper management team regarding hiring, firing and annual employment reviews of department employees
- Manage deliveries of all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Manage local delivery driver schedule and routes
- Develop and conduct training programs for production personnel on forklift training
- Manage and negotiate shipment costs with logistics companies
- Coordinate timely deliveries to customer job sites
- Receive, verify and pack incoming and outgoing deliveries and process appropriate paperwork across departments
- Manage all incoming and outgoing deliveries in the ERP system and work with Finance Dept on shipped orders to invoice
- Coach employees on standard operating procedures and work instructions; assist functional areas in the development and implementation of processes and procedures
- Initiate and conduct plant audits and inspections; perform audit procedures, including:
o Identifying and defining issues
o Developing criteria
o Documenting business processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, standards, procedures, and applicable government industry regulations
- Assist in the preparation of reports for all levels of management
- Assist in identifying and evaluating the organization’s risk areas and provide input on continuous improvement of processes and procedures
- Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job

Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
- 5 years of experience in Shipping and Receiving
- Must have Class D Driver's License
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office Applications (Access, Excel, Word, Powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat, Jobscope ERP
- Strong problem solving and statistical data analysis capabilities
- Strong communication skills, written and oral
- The applicant must be fluent in the English language with the level of competence that will permit the applicant to function in the position. Examples of job duties that require a high level of English fluency are: Understanding and applying Industry and Government Regulations, coaching employees and conducting forklift training.
