Primary Responsibilities
Service Technician performs a wide range of duties such as:
- Crete excellent experience for the customer while providing world class support
- Installation, start-up, training, and service of OEM automation equipment and vision systems
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and implement corrective action
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and Robot control programs with support from engineering
- Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed
- Follow all customer’s procedures and protocols
- Build lasting relationships with customers
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and policies
- Perform and assist with other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics
- Ability to read and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and Robot programs.
- Experience working with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and/or Fanuc products
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service automation equipment
- Well versed in machine controls and have good mechanical aptitude
- Valid driver’s license and have or be able to acquire a valid passport
- Motivated with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Must adhere to all company policies as communicated
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
Requirements
- Education - Automotive Technology degree, technical or automotive certification, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of technical experience or equivalent industry experience
- This position operates in an office and plant environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photo copiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, tools, and other machines.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, and bending. Ability to lift components up to 50 lbs. Required to follow all plant safety procedures and practices.
- Travel - This position is travel intensive. Much of the travel is within the tristate area but we service customers across the country. Overnight stays are frequently required. Travel abroad is also a possibility. (50% - 70% Travel)
