FANUC Robot Technician / Programmer - Industrial Automation

International Wheel & Tire (IWT) is seeking an experienced FANUC Robot Technician / Programmer to program, simulate, integrate, calibrate, commission, and troubleshoot robotic automation systems.

This is a hands-on position requiring 5 years of FANUC robotics experience and strong proficiency with FANUC programming, ROBOGUIDE simulation, calibration, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Program and troubleshoot FANUC industrial robots using the teach pendant.
• Use FANUC ROBOGUIDE for offline programming, simulation, cell layout, reach analysis, collision detection, and cycle-time optimization.
• Perform robot mastering, calibration, TCP/Tool Frame and User Frame setup.
• Program and optimize robot positions, paths, speeds, motion, and sequences.
• Troubleshoot robot faults, controllers, servo systems, I/O, sensors, safety devices, and communication issues.
• Integrate robots with PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, conveyors, tooling, and other automation equipment.
• Support equipment installation, debugging, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and production startup.
• Perform robot touch-ups and programming changes at customer facilities.
• Work with Controls, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering teams to resolve automation issues.
• Travel to customer facilities as required.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on FANUC robotics experience.
• Strong FANUC robot programming skills—not just operation or maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with FANUC ROBOGUIDE simulation and offline programming.
• Experience with robot mastering, calibration, TCP/Tool Frames, and User Frames.
• Ability to troubleshoot robot programs, motion, I/O, controllers, and automation equipment.
• Experience integrating robots with PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong hands-on industrial automation troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to travel for installation, commissioning, and customer support.

Preferred Experience

• FANUC training or certification.
• FANUC R-30iA, R-30iB, R-30iB Plus, or similar controllers.
• Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens PLC integration.
• Automotive, tire/wheel, material handling, or industrial automation equipment.
• Robotic cell installation and production launch experience.
