Major Job Duties (all departments)
- Weigh and measure ingredients
- Verify product temperature
- Operate machines or manually assemble boxes; affix labels
- Operate production machines and manually assemble product to company specifications
- Manually assemble product in teamwork setting to company specifications
- Operate packaging machines and manually package product to company specifications
- Operate an Electric Power Jack
- Take direction from and answer to Department Supervisor/Foreman
- Work with fellow employees in a teamwork approach to complete daily product production schedule
- Inspect product for quality
- Perform product production and packaging in low temperature environments while standing for long periods of time
- Monitor, record and verify each step in operations to company Standard Operating Procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Can pay attention to detail, such as monitoring product to consistently meet company standards for food safety and quality
- Ability to work successfully with a team to meet production schedules
- Monitors own work performance to company standards and adjusts to meet minimum expectations of self and team
- Must be able to perform all duties in all production departments as employees rotate at any time between jobs
- Must be able to adapt to changes in work areas and jobs due to changes in schedules, employee availability and machine availability
- Knows and understands company policies and procedures and can apply them to food production and employee and company safety
- Ability to find ways to improve processes to improve productivity and product safety and quality
- Can ask for help and takes direction from fellow team workers and management
- Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions to assist in the successful performance your job
- Uses a ‘common sense’ approach when carrying out written and oral instructions
- Knowledgeable about OSHA, USDA and HACCP regulations and policies
- Add and subtract, and perform these operations using weight measurement, volume and temperature
- Read a scale and adjust weights as required
- Solve problems involving a few variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to perform all duties in all production departments as employees rotate at any time between jobs
- Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Frequently required to walk, twist, bend, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and cold
- Regularly work in an environment that is usually loud
- Hearing protection as well as other mandatory Personal Protective Equipment are required and mandatory
- Occasionally required to stoop or twist and bend at the waist
- Occasionally push/pull up to 1000 lb
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
