Senior Tax Associate ($90,000–$115,000 bonus)

Responsibilities
- Lead tax engagements from initial planning through execution and final delivery, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and in accordance with firm and professional standards.
- Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations, identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff and interns on tax engagements, providing feedback, coaching, and on-the-job development.
- Review work prepared by staff, checking for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Develop a strong understanding of each client’s operations, processes, and objectives in order to provide practical tax and business recommendations.
- Proactively communicate with key client contacts to gather information, resolve tax issues, and suggest improvements to tax processes and business practices.
- Support partners and managers with proposals, presentations, and business development activities as needed.
- Research and maintain awareness of state, multistate, and foreign tax issues relevant to client engagements.
- Exhibit flexibility in work hours during peak tax seasons and commit additional time as necessary to meet critical filing deadlines and client needs.
Client Requirements
- Minimum of three years of progressive tax experience, preferably with a public accounting firm.
- Strong tax accounting skills with a solid grasp of U.S. GAAP and federal and state tax compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing tax engagements and staff, including leading teams, delegating work, and providing training and mentorship.
- Commitment to exceptional client service and building long-term client relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including strong skills in Excel; experience with professional tax software is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or a related discipline and eligibility to sit for the CPA exam; CPA track strongly preferred.
