Certified Medical Assistant
Medical office located at 1169 N Main Street in Bluffton is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant. We are a small, close-knit team with one physician.
The Medical Assistant (MA) functions in a clinical and administrative support role to assist the physician and to ensure the delivery of quality health care services. The MA reports to the Practice Manager.
- Office Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect patient medical histories and medication lists and record and maintain current data in electronic patient chart. Collect patient assessment data pertaining to the physical, psychological and social status of the patient. Collect and record patient vital signs. Oversee completion of contracts and consent forms by patients. Evaluate and enter MACRA/MIPS data and ensure meeting all criteria. Prepare patient, room and instruments for procedures. Assist physician during procedures. Stock all exam and procedure rooms for patient care. Handle urine samples and prepare for shipment. Maintain procedure and exam room cleanliness. Maintain nurse station orderliness and cleanliness. Share responsibility for maintaining patient bathroom cleanliness. Prepare charts for following day including INSPECT reports for PDMP and reviewing UDS results.
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
Organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism are required. Tasks must be followed through to timely completion. Compassion for our patients and at times, firmness, is required as well. The position requires handling sometimes difficult conversations with patients. A high level of computer and technology skills is required, as EHR software use is common in daily task completion.
- Medical assisting clinical experience.
- EHR experience, NextGen experience preferred but will train.
- Computer proficiency, Microsoft applications including Outlook.
- Detail-oriented.
- Willingness to subject to a urine drug screen before hire and if requested after hire.
- Demonstrated knowledge of surgical asepsis, Universal Precautions, OSHA standards, HIPAA.
- Interact directly with patients and the public with confidentiality, courtesy and professionalism.
- Confident, well-spoken, professional and neat in appearance.
- Conducts self in every personal and professional circumstance with adherence to the highest ethical standards.
