About Our Family
We are a warm, dynamic family of four (five if you count our beloved Mini-Bernedoodle!) living in Menlo Park. While we are busy professionals, we place a strong emphasis on spending quality time together. Whether it’s taking a week off every other month to travel or simply unwinding by the water, family adventures are a core part of who we are.
Our children, ages 5 and 11, keep us active and on our toes. They love playing games, trying new foods and activities, and keeping the energy high around our home. As they grow, we cherish helping them foster independence while still supporting their learning and development. Our home is full of energy, laughter, and grounded in community - one of our favorite family activities is an annual block party with our neighbors.
Our household thrives on a balance of structure and fun. We encourage our children to take personal responsibility while ensuring there’s always room for play—whether it's during family meals, weekend trips, or simply relaxing at home. We maintain an atmosphere of love, respect, and open communication, believing that clear boundaries are just as important as fostering our kids' autonomy. As our children grow, we're transitioning from a dedicated nanny to a hybrid role that combines household management with consistent after-school support. We're looking for someone who will seamlessly integrate into our family, helping to create balance and support our busy lives.
Who You Are / What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced house manager with prior childcare experience who can balance initiative with adaptability. You are naturally organized, tech-savvy (Skylight knowledge is a plus), and excel at creating home systems that improve the flow of daily life. With a proactive mindset and excellent communication skills, you’ll help keep our home running smoothly, while knowing when to add a little fun into the mix—whether it's through spontaneous activities with the kids or adapting to changing plans.
This role involves prioritizing not only daily after-school support for our kids, but also maintaining a tidy and well-cared-for home. You’ll bring your energy and expertise to engage our children enthusiastically and implement systems to maintain order across the household. You’ll take ownership of weekly tasks like meal prep, laundry, and household organization, while being flexible when things change unexpectedly. Your calm and reliability will ensure that everything runs effortlessly, and you’ll always know what needs to be done without needing reminders or constant direction.
With your experience working with children, you understand the importance of balancing structure with growth and independence. You’re a strong communicator, keeping us informed and ensuring that schedules, meals, and errands are managed smoothly. Above all, we’re looking for someone who can seamlessly integrate into our family dynamic—helping to maintain a relaxed yet organized atmosphere, giving us more space to enjoy quality time together. We value trustworthiness, consistency, and the ability to work autonomously, making you a key player in creating a home that feels like a sanctuary. If you’re proactive, enjoy working in a family-oriented environment, and want to be part of a team that values respect and long-term collaboration, we would love to meet you!
