Job Title: House Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support)

Location: Mount Pleasant, SC 29464

Employment Type: Part-time (12–15 hours/week, guaranteed 12 hours)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible mid-morning to mid-afternoon (between 9AM-4 PM), 2x monthly date night coverage

Compensation: $28–32/hour

Start Date: ASAP

  • Can maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Comfortable with dogs
  • Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain
  • General vaccinations

About Our Family

We’re a lively, busy family juggling work, school, and the chaos of life with two kids, two dogs, and an ever-growing to-do list. Both parents work demanding jobs, and mom is often traveling for work, so things can get a little hectic around here. We value our time together and want to make sure that when we’re home, we’re actually present—not drowning in laundry or scrambling to figure out dinner.

That’s where you come in! We need someone who can take charge of the household, manage the daily tasks—laundry, organizing, grocery shopping, errands, and meal prep—so we can focus on what really matters: spending quality time as a family.

We’re looking for a confident, self-directed individual who’s not afraid to step in and collaborate with us on ways to make our home run more smoothly. You'll bring order to the chaos while keeping the atmosphere warm, friendly, and fun.

You’re a go-getter who takes charge and knows how to keep things running without needing constant direction. We're looking for someone who can step in, take the reins, and keep things organized! You’ve got a project manager mentality, can anticipate needs before they arise, and handle everything from laundry to meal prep with ease and efficiency. You thrive in a dynamic environment, love staying ahead of the game, and keep things tidy and running smoothly.

You’re detail-oriented, approachable, and communicate with confidence. Bonus points for a good sense of humor—because let’s face it, managing a busy home is a full-time job, and we’ll need someone who can handle it with grace (and maybe a little laughter). Most importantly, you bring the experience and confidence to make our home the organized, stress-free haven we’re all craving.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Maintain and enhance household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure hope is prepped for cleaning services (2x monthly)
  • Awareness household schedules and calendars with Skylight
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding, etc.)
  • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
  • Maintain indoor plants

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Iron, steam, and prepare outfits as needed
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies

Inventory Management & Errands

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries

Meal Planning & Preparation

  • Plan and prep healthy, kid-friendly meals/snacks for whole family
  • Batch-cook or prep weekly meals (3x weekly)
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Vehicle Management

  • Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Manage routine upkeep as needed
  • Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance as needed

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Organize special projects: closet organization, toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Awareness of family calendars and reminders
  • Handle basic budgeting and receipt tracking for expenses incurred as house manager
  • Assist with coordination of events, appointments, and guest prep

Family Support & Child Assistance

  • Occasional light supervision, playtime, or back-up childcare
  • Twice-monthly date nights
  • Prep backpacks, clothing, or snacks for school
  • Help with child-related laundry or errands
