We're looking for a dynamic, strategic, and creative Public Relations Specialist to help amplify SAGE's story, strengthen media relationships, and elevate our brand presence. With a strong reputation and steady growth, we're ready to share more of the stories that make SAGE special.

This on-site role is based in our beautiful Home Office in Lutherville, Maryland—just outside Baltimore—where we value collaboration and the creativity that comes from working together in person.

What you'll do:

  • Lead media relations for SAGE by developing and pitching story ideas to national, regional, and local media outlets; build and maintain media lists; monitor coverage and mentions; and respond to inbound media inquiries.
  • Plan and manage the media pitch calendar, curating timely, relevant story ideas and content that align with SAGE's brand, seasonal themes, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with industry associations and education partners to develop and provide communications content for newsletters, conferences, and publications.
  • Support the organization's incident response communications, ensuring timely, accurate, and brand-aligned messaging.
  • Identify and curate industry recognition award opportunities to highlight SAGE's excellence and innovation; manage submissions and follow-ups.
  • Identify and secure speaking opportunities for SAGE leadership and sales team members at relevant conferences and industry events.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in public relations.
  • Excellent business writing skills, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to pitch and secure media coverage.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with calmness and ease.
  • Ability to handle multiple work-streams at one time, in an organized fashion.

  • Willingness to jump in as needed with marketing department needs, occasionally after normal business hours. This is rare, but the nature of our business does require flexibility to be available when the need arises. Advance notice is typically given.
