What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at SAFY?
As a Program Coordinator you will be responsible for the oversight of SAFY’s Partner Parent Program. Recruit, hire, and manage Parent Partners, who act as peer mentors, supporting families in understanding and navigating the child welfare system. Additionally, this role will act as a liaison between the Parent Partners and participating community stakeholders, county child welfare agencies and Franklin County Children Services.

What You’ll Do
- Provide oversight of services and day-to-day tasks such as compensation, job assignments, and programmatic issues.
- Develop and coordinate with county or state agency to determine individualized referral process and target populations.
- Coordinate with county or state agency and Parent Partners to implement family assignment process ensuring that: Confidentiality and mandated reporting requirements will be addressed throughout duration of involvement.
- Assigned Parent Partner will be most appropriate based on family’s initial or assessed needs.
- Assigned Parent Partner will be matched with a family based on shared experience, with consideration for noncustodial parenting.
- Parent Partner will contact family within one week of assignment.
- Parent Partner can request re-assignment if there is a conflict or concern.
- Parent Partner will meet with caseworker periodically during the duration of services, as requested by the family.
- Once a case is assigned, it will remain open depending on the needs of the family and the levels of involvement.
- Parent Partner cases can be closed at any time based on mutual agreement by all parties or by the birth family alone.
- Review Parent Partner cases in biweekly meetings and monthly supervision with Parent Partner to discuss ongoing issues and case concerns.
- Implement use of statewide standardized paperwork including Parent Partner quarterly reporting form and other forms that may be developed.
- Provide, schedule, and attend required training for Parent Partners and Parent Partners in Training.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports documenting hours spent on engagement and positive progress made by the program coordinator and /or Parent Partners and summarizing work completed.
- Interview candidates applying for non-clinical positions in the program. Responsible for the training of assigned staff, which includes thorough and complete training for new employees and assuring that the current staff receive appropriate continuing education. Assign performance goals, conduct monthly supervision, and perform scheduled evaluations for all direct reports.
Supervisory
- Partners with (1-2) lead Parent Partners and will serve on the parent partner leadership group. This group will guide the development and future of the program in Ohio. The group will meet monthly.
- Lead, manage, and coach assigned staff and others as assigned by supervisor. Perform scheduled evaluations and conduct monthly supervision for all direct reports.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performance divisional team. Provide direction to staff in the form of answers to problems and advice with staff performance and program issues. Assist supervisor in establishing performance goals for the division and monitor progress.
- Assist in establishing performance goals for the department and monitor progress.
- Assist in providing orientation training to new team members.
- Assist in managing annual budget process for the department and monitor closely throughout the year. Work with Program Manager and finance department to manage program budget and work within that budget once approved. Review monthly financial information and make suggestions when necessary.

- Ability to work flexible hours daily/weekly to fulfill position duties. Flexible work hours may include workdays as well as weekend work hours.

Qualifications
- Some college coursework required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in peer support, child welfare, social/human services and the Iowa Parent Partner Approach model will be considered.
- Three to five years’ related work experience in peer support, social work or related field.

Targeted hiring range: $46,000.00 to $57,000.00
- Compensation is commensurate with transferrable experience, education and licensure of candidate, location of the position, along with internal equity and budgeted amount for the role.
