What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager Accountant position at Safstrom CPAs & Advisors, PLLC?
CPA firm, with offices in Bellingham and Seattle, WA, seeks a Manager Level tax accountant for the Bellingham location. Minimum of 6 years of public accounting firm experience. Work may be performed in the office Monday through Friday, although flexible schedules and remote work options are available. Additional hours will be required during the Spring busy season, as well as around other tax filing deadlines.
Primary duties may include:
- Review and preparation of individual and business tax returns as well as other assistance in the tax preparation process.
- Assisting with training and coaching of less experienced staff.
- Working with the partner in charge to manage workloads and deadlines.
- Having significant client contact to maintain and develop client relationships. Reviewing tax information supplied by clients; following up with clients to answer questions.
- Providing tax planning and consulting advice to individual and business clients.
- Recognizing, anticipating, and resolving tax issues; making recommendations.
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Active Status CPA license.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
- Knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and preparation of individual and entity tax returns.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and experience with professional tax software.
- Candidate must be thorough, detail oriented, and work well with others.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
