What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Staff or Senior Tax Accountant position at Safstrom CPAs & Advisors, PLLC?
CPA firm, with offices in Bellingham and Seattle, WA, seeks a Staff Level tax accountant for the Bellingham location. Minimum of 2 years of public accounting firm experience. Work may be performed in the office Monday through Friday, although flexible schedules and remote work options are available. Additional hours will be required during the Spring busy season, as well as around other tax filing deadlines.
Primary duties may include:
- Preparation and review of individual and business tax returns as well as other assistance in the tax preparation process.
- Assisting with training and coaching of less experienced staff.
- Having client contact and building client relationships. Reviewing tax information supplied by clients; following up with clients to answer questions and request additional information.
- Providing tax planning and consulting advice to individual and business clients under manager supervision.
- Recognizing, anticipating, and resolving tax issues; making recommendations.
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Active Status CPA license or CPA license eligible.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
- Basic knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and preparation of individual and entity tax returns.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and experience with professional tax software.
- Candidate must be thorough, detail oriented, and work well with others.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
