What are the responsibilities and job description for the UX/UI Designer position at Safran?

Job Description

The UX/UI Designer is part of the multi-faceted Creative Services Team, whose primary objectives are to create cutting-edge inflight entertainment products (both for passengers and crew) and branding the product for airline customers. The UX/UI Designer role is one that fuses a UX mindset with that of a UI/visual design skill set. It requires an efficient understanding and execution of each step involved in a GUI's creative scope, from the initial creation of a product/feature to the application of a customer's brand/visual design. A UX/UI Designer must possess a general range of skill sets and an adaptable attitude. The UX/UI Designer is highly collaborative and works both intra-departmentally (with their fellow designers) and inter-departmentally (alongside product owners, product development teams, program management and airline customers). The hybrid nature of the role also requires equal attention to other creative services projects, such as product marketing documentation, trade show graphic design, presentation material, and other design assignments.

 Collaboratively conceptualize and design compelling, easy-to-use interfaces and products that target airline passengers, cabin crew, and maintenance personnel 
Collaborate directly with product owners and developers on the successful implementation of a UX/UI design and the product requirements; participate in all Agile/product development activities
 Demonstrate substantial knowledge across user-centered design, visual design, graphic design, front-end development, brand strategy, interaction design, marketing & advertising strategies
 Study an airline's brand, apply a design to a standard product and guide the customer through a product branding & configuration process
 Participate in and facilitate collaborative design review sessions, communicating all design ideas and concepts effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
 Cut and package design assets for developer consumption
 Be the voice of the airline and their passenger during all phases of design
 Provide excellent customer management with minimal direction and supervision
 Balance a number of Creative Services Team projects that cover a broad range of UI/visual design skills
 Design and produce product marketing documentation and presentations
 Be up-to-date with the industry, maintaining knowledge of top-emerging technologies and digital design trends, including but not limited to mobile and web
 Possess openness to creative insight, feedback, criticism, and praise from management, executive stakeholders, customers, and fellow designers
 Represent the company during offsite meetings and advise management on action items gathered from client meetings
 Be a team player and perform other job-related duties as assigned
