Responsibilities of Position:
Responsibilities of HR-03-411 in addition to the following:
- Troubleshoot, repair, test, and maintain plant utilities systems, electrical, compressed air, steam, HVAC, water cooling systems, propane/natural gas, and overhead cranes
- Perform all aspects of metal fabrication: MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, use of Plasma Arc, aceytelene torch, drill press, band saw, and cut off saw; thread pipe, including use of threading and tapping tools; use precision tools such as micromenters and dial calipers; operate surface mill and lathe, to include fabrication of small repair components.
- Maintain and install basic instrumentation:
- Maintain and repair all process and production-specific equipment related to all Carbon plant or Wheels and Brakes operations
- Use DCS & PLC components, microprocessor systems for troubleshooting equipment failures
- Research parts and components for purchasing requirements
- Perform other related duties as required
Physical/Environmental Scope of Position:
- work in/near electro-magnetic fields created by high temperature induction furnaces
- subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat and cold, atmospheric conditions, noise, vibration, oils, and other related industrial hazards
- work in confined spaces and wear a respirator
- vocal communication, hearing, and visual acuity are required for safety, direction, and the exchange of ideas in the industrial environment
- will be exposed to and handle hazardous wastes
- Must demonstrate the physical capacity to meet the demands of the "Heavy" Job Placement Assessment (JPA) as administered by St. Elizabeth Business Health Services

Job requirements
- Associate Degree in industrial electricity/electronics or verifiable equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years experience in an industrial environment
- Experience with PLC and DCS control systems and troubleshooting microprocessor based systems
- Experience in using electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Experience with CNC machine maintenance and operation
- Experience in welding, cutting, and fabrication a plus
- Additional education, experience, and/or military experience will be considered in the event that an applicant does not meet one or more of the above requirements
