Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Monitor vital signs regularly to ensure residents’ health stability and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, employing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs and assist with feeding as required, ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Support residents during outings or community activities by providing transportation if licensed to drive and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Maintain a clean, safe living environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to health and safety standards
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and managing behaviors associated with cognitive decline
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or Hoyer lift training are advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring long-term care support
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties; clean driving record preferred
