SMG seeks a Safety Designer & Commissioner in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The key function is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible regarding change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in various industrial environments such as Manufacturing, Construction, Utility & Health, and Pharma.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
- Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Manage safety training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and emergency response.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to create safe working environments.
- Participate in safety committees and task forces to address safety-related issues and improve safety practices.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations, such as OSHA guidelines.
- Provide input to safety-related projects and initiatives to enhance workplace safety.
- Maintain records and documentation of safety activities and compliance measures.
- Ensures that design, construction, and commissioning decisions align with client HSE requirements before hazards are built into the asset or transferred to operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of EHS experience
- ASP, GSP, or CSP preferred
- Pharmaceutical experience preferred
- Experience in safety management programs
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Effective presentation and communication skills
Physical Demands of the job may include:
- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
