SMG seeks a Safety Advisor - Scaffold Expert in Lebanon, Indiana.
The key function of a Safety Advisor is to prioritize safety at the forefront of their job, put the client's needs first, work effectively in a team setting, be self-managed, and remain flexible in the face of change.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the scaffold builders on the project.
- Ensure that the scaffolding is constructed in accordance with the specified documents and drawings. (This individual will not be responsible for approving the scaffold design or signing off on the scaffolding)
- Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
- Facilitates corrective measures where warranted
- Represents the contractor or the Owner in progress meetings
- Verifies compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, or the contractor
- Attends pre-construction planning and safety meetings
- Provides incident management and support
- Documentation and Report preparation
- Conducts Contractor program review
Requirements
- 5 years of previous experience overseeing scaffold construction
- Bachelor's degree in safety or related fields preferred
- Safety Program Development Experience
- Demonstrated Safety Leadership
Physical Demands of the job may include:
- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
