SMG seeks an HSE Advisor - Owner's Rep in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The HSE Advisor will coordinate contractor work, conduct additional field audits, and support the HSE team’s efforts.
Overview of Job Responsibilities
- Complete contractor onboarding training.
- Collaborate with contractors to refine the scope of work, assist them in completing risk assessments, and issue work permits for specialized contractors.
- Conduct field audits on work permit compliance.
- Review equipment-specific instructions for lockout.
- Administer annual employee knowledge checks on lockout/tagout.
- Evaluate ongoing lockout/tagouts in the field.
- Support emergency response coordination.
- Coordinate signage needs across the site.
- Aid in supply and PPE management.
- Assist with confined space entries.
- Provide help with other HSE tasks as requested.
Requirements
- More than three years of construction safety experience.
- Three-plus years of experience managing teams and departments, overseeing program execution, and holding program ownership.
- Degree in safety or related fields.
- Previous experience in safety leadership.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course.

- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
