SafeLane is looking for experienced Residential Roofers to join our growing Home Services network throughout Metro Detroit.

What You'll Be Doing

SafeLane primarily specializes in complete residential roof replacement projects.

Our crews are expected to complete roofing systems safely, professionally, and efficiently while delivering exceptional workmanship.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform complete residential roof tear-offs and replacements
• Install new asphalt shingle roofing systems
• Remove old roofing materials safely
• Install synthetic underlayment and ice & water shield
• Replace damaged decking when necessary
• Install drip edge and starter materials
• Install ridge cap shingles and ventilation systems
• Install and replace roof flashings
• Install pipe boots, valley metal, chimney flashing, and step flashing
• Install roof vents and ventilation components
• Install gutters, gutter guards, fascia, and related exterior components when required
• Properly protect landscaping and customer property
• Thoroughly clean job sites using magnetic sweepers and debris removal procedures
• Inspect completed work for quality assurance
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and supervisors
• Follow all OSHA safety requirements and SafeLane procedures

Roof Inspection & Diagnosis

Every roofing professional should be comfortable identifying roofing issues before work begins.

You should be able to:

• Inspect residential roofing systems
• Diagnose leaks and water intrusion
• Identify storm and wind damage
• Recognize ventilation problems
• Identify flashing failures
• Detect damaged decking
• Recommend whether repairs or full replacement are appropriate
• Explain roofing issues clearly to homeowners

Required Qualifications

*** Applicants must have professional residential roofing experience. ***

Requirements include:

• Minimum of 2 years of residential roofing experience (preferred)
• Proven experience performing complete residential roof replacements
• Experience with full roof tear-offs
• Experience installing complete roofing systems
• Knowledge of residential roofing materials and installation methods
• Ability to diagnose roofing problems from the roof
• Experience installing flashing systems
• Experience replacing vents, pipe boots, and roof penetrations
• Experience with gutters, fascia, and related exterior components
• Ability to work safely on steep-pitch roofs
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent work ethic
• Reliable transportation
• Smartphone with internet access
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Crew Lead experience
• Experience supervising roofing crews
• OSHA Safety Certification
• Valid Driver's License
• Roofing contractor license or prior licensing experience (where applicable)
• Experience with insurance restoration projects
• Experience with architectural shingles
• Experience with synthetic underlayments
• Experience with ventilation upgrades
• Ability to operate roofing equipment and trailers

Physical Requirements

This is physically demanding outdoor work.

Applicants must be able to:

• Lift 75–100 pounds
• Carry roofing materials up ladders
• Stand, kneel, bend, climb, and balance for extended periods
• Work safely at heights
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Complete projects ranging from one day to multiple days

When roofing projects become available, qualified roofers receive notifications and may accept the jobs that fit their schedule.
