Role Description This full-time, on-site Attorney role is based in Syracuse, NY. The Attorney will provide legal counsel to clients in areas such as asset protection, estate planning, Medicaid planning, and related matters, handling client meetings, case evaluations, and ongoing advisory engagements. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing legal documents (such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives), conducting legal research, and preparing strategies that align with clients’ long-term goals. The Attorney will maintaindetailed records and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role also includes collaborating with team members to refine firm processes, participating in community outreach or educational events, and contributing to a supportive, relationship-focused client experience.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with experience in estate planning, asset protection, probate, trust administration, and Medicaid planning.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice tailored to individual client needs and goals.
- Excellent Research skills to interpret statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to estate, trsut, Medicaid, and asset protection strategies.
- Licensed to practice law in New York State, with good standing in the relevant bar association.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused, empathetic approach and strong listening abilities.
- High level of professional ethics, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines.
- Experience in elder law, Medicaid planning, or trust and estates practice is highly beneficial.
