What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Advocate position at SAFE CORRIDORS?
Job Summary:
The Safe Corridors Safety Advocate plays a critical role in being the primary level of response needed to support students at their assigned site. This position involves a consistent application of trauma informed training, the ability and willingness to de-escalate interactions between students, the ability to effectively and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing, proactive implementation of safety measures, and the ability to follow directions as shared by the Site Coordinator.

Communication:

- Use trauma informed practices to verbally redirect students in high traffic areas.
- Build a positive rapport with students, school staff, and parents.
- Complete and share incident reports within 24 hours of involvement with student de-escalation.
- Follow directions as given by the Site Coordinator.
- Maintain a professional record of attendance and behavior.
Collaboration:

- Collaborate with your team in a solutions-oriented way to enhance preventative safety measures through daily morning huddles and once a week feedback meeting.
- Consistently and effectively collaborate with school staff to integrate Safe Corridors initiatives into the broader school safety plan.
- Share feedback for improvement with your Site Coordinator.
- Follow the chain of command for communication.
- Work with your Safe Corridors team to support school day operations.
Salary : $15 - $20
