Responsibilities

• Implement Safari Kid Enrichment curriculum
• Assist students in completing homework in Math, ELA, and Writing.
• Use effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote active learning
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate school-wide activities
• Supervise and ensure the safety of children during after school hours through effective child supervision and behavior management techniques
• Plan and facilitate a variety of engaging activities including arts and crafts, theater, outdoor play, and youth group activities to promote development and teamwork
• Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment
• Provide first aid and follow first aid protocols when necessary;
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to communicate children's progress and address any concerns

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) ; first aid certification required or willing to obtain upon hire
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
• Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Mandarin, Chinese or others)
• Be available for work Mon - Fri 2:00 pm - 6:00
• Excellent communication skills with an energetic and positive attitude.
