This position oversees daily operations in the service department, including scheduling and coordinating repair work, assigning jobs to technicians, and ensuring efficient use of the eight service bays. The Service Manager reviews work orders, diagnoses service needs in collaboration with technicians, and verifies that repairs meet safety, quality, and compliance standards. This role communicates with customers regarding estimates, timelines, and repair status, while supporting parts ordering and inventory coordination with the parts department. The Service Manager also mentors technicians, supports training, manages workflow and productivity, and contributes to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.

Qualifications
- 5 years experience in heavy-duty truck service management or supervision, including coordinating shop operations and technician workloads.
- Strong technical knowledge of driveline, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general truck repair practices.
- Proficiency in service order management, estimating labor and parts, and using service management or shop software.
- Effective customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and repair options clearly.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team coaching, performance feedback, and conflict resolution.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance, with familiarity in DOT and industry standards for commercial vehicles.
- Organizational skills for prioritizing multiple repair jobs, managing timelines, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Previous experience in a truck or automotive repair facility; ASE or manufacturer certifications in heavy-duty truck systems are beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary technical training in diesel technology or related fields is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Davenport, IA, and assist with hands-on diagnostics
