What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Electrical Specialist position at Saddleback?
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Maintenance tasks
- Conduct and perform preventive, routine and predictive maintenance of all campus repairs
- Repair, replace and perform basic upgrades of internal and external building construction, including painting, carpentry, floor refinishing, and all basic maintenance repairs.
- Develop and maintain facility/grounds standards for various areas of the property. Work with Landscape to improve efficiencies.
- May be asked to work in tandem with facilities to include pressure washing, cobweb dusting, cleaning railings, benches, outside furniture, porch lights, buildings, etc. in preparation for conferences, retreats and meetings.
- Along with all Saddleback Operations staff, ensure parking lots and sidewalks are free from litter and debris.
- Inside work includes any project-based work as defined by leadership.
Electrical tasks
- Perform minor electrical tasks such as: changing fixtures, repairing switches and outlets, repair and troubleshooting circuits, power supplies and wiring.
- May be called upon to assist with other projects as directed by leadership.
Communication
- Participate in weekly and/or bi-monthly team sessions for fellowship, planning and coordination.
- Communicate with team members and department leadership to ensure coordination and execution of scheduled work.
- Attend all church mandated meetings, activities and events.
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
- Some professional experience in a maintenance or construction trade.
- Some professional experience in the electrical trades.
- Understand that we are a “people first”, service-oriented team.
- Have a willing heart and a teachable spirit.
- Basic construction, mechanical and electrical skills.
- Must be familiar with safe working practices.
- High school diploma preferred.

Saddleback Church’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity and budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. The estimated pay rate for this position is $26.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on experience. We will provide a pay rate within our salary structure that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job. The posted wage range does not guarantee a specific job offer.
