What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campus Tech Director (part time) - Irvine North position at Saddleback?
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Services/Events/Equipment operation:
- Operate and maintain all audio-video-lighting systems within the regional campus. Weekend hours are required as an engineer for weekend services. This is achieved with direct contract with the campus pastor and worship leaders to better understand the needs for the service.
- Organize all campus staging and technical items so that any ministry in need of technical service can have quality assistance and response.
- Regularly meet with the Worship Director/Pastor and specific ministry leaders to brainstorm and strategize the best look and feel of weekend services and other ministry events.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and ongoing planning for Technical Arts needs for weekly services, ministries, and events.
- Organize/Operate Technical Arts equipment needs for large special events as needed.
Volunteers/Culture:
- Recruit, shepherd, and appreciate volunteers for multiple ministries and train them on how to best use equipment at the campus. Ministries may include Celebrate Recovery, Men’s, Women’s, and Students.
- Create an atmosphere of excellence with organized, energized and creative training to draw people into ministry.
- Join in with the pastoral staff in providing general guest care each weekend (greet guests, work the patio, etc.)
Administrative:
- Planning /ordering /arranging Technical Arts related equipment rentals for special events.
- Organize and receive technical needs from ministry leaders.
- Oversee scheduling of volunteers and On-Call Technical Arts related technicians.
WHO YOU ARE
- Weekend hours are required with some potential heavy lifting.
- 3 years’ experience running large format sound consoles, lighting, and video systems, preferably in a church setting.
- Basic knowledge of lighting and video systems.
- Ability to interact well with the Campus Pastor and Worship Leader to determine what is needed to turn their creative ideas into technical reality.
- Must be organized and effective in communication with volunteers and other church staff.
- Flexible approach to changing priorities and duties.
- An understanding of Saddleback Church and its values and culture is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired.
Saddleback Church’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity, along with budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. Pay will be provided at $28.00 per hour. We will provide a pay rate that is within our salary structure and that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job.
