Upper School Biology Teacher

Saddle River Day School is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Biology teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. This position includes teaching Upper School classes (which may include some Middle School students) and serving as an advisor to a small group of students.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach five sections of Biology and/or Anatomy courses (classes may be on the CP, Honors, or AP level)
• Serve as an advisor to a group of students, providing guidance and support in their academic and personal development
• Participate actively in the life of the school community beyond the classroom, including contributing to extracurricular programs, events, and committees
  
  

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology (advanced degree preferred)
• Have experience teaching science courses, preferable at the high school level (other relevant experiences will be considered)
• Demonstrate a passion for teaching, fostering student growth, and engaging students in scientific inquiry and critical thinking
• Manage the classroom effectively, establish a positive learning environment, and maintain accurate records of student progress
• Effectively differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of learning styles
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative curricula and interdisciplinary learning opportunities
• Communicate effectively with families to support student success
• Create a student-centered learning environment that encourages critical thinking, inquiry, and exploration
• Integrate technology and current educational trends into classroom practices
  
  

Compensation And Benefits

• Salary Range: $60,000 to $90,000 (final compensation will be determined based on experience and education)
