Saddle River Day School is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Vocal Teacher and Theatre Coordinator to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. This position includes teaching vocal and choral courses, teaching theatre/drama courses, and coordinating the school’s theatre program and events in the Performing Arts Center.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach a range of Middle and Upper School courses vocal/choral and theatre/drama program, with potential courses including Middle School Choir, Upper School Choir, Vocal Master Class, Acting, and Middle School Theatre Arts
- Serve as an advisor to a group of students, providing guidance and support in their academic and personal development
- Participate actively in the life of the school community beyond the classroom, including contributing to extracurricular programs, events, and committees
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Vocal Performance, Choral Conducting, Theatre/Theatre Education, Musical Theatre, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Have experience teaching performing arts at the Middle or Upper School level (other relevant experience will be considered)
- Strong proficiency in piano required
- Provide piano accompaniment for all choral classes
- Additional proficiency in string instruments and/or ability to support strong instruction, preferred
- Coordinate and lead the theatre program, including organizing productions and supporting students in performance and backstage roles
- Coordinate and manage the Performing Arts Center events, which may include (but are not limited to): a Lower School Musical, a Middle School Musical, two Upper School productions (including one musical), Winter and Spring concerts for all three divisions, and other school performances/events as needed
- Demonstrate a passion for teaching, fostering student growth, and engaging students in music and drama
- Manage the classroom effectively, establish a positive learning environment, and maintain accurate records of student progress
- Effectively differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of learning styles
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative curricula and interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- Communicate effectively with families to support student success
- Create a student-centered learning environment that encourages critical thinking, inquiry, and a love for the performing arts
- Integrate technology and current educational trends into classroom practices
- Salary Range: $60,000 to $90,000 (final compensation will be determined based on experience and education)
