Responsibilities
- Must demonstrate and model Sachse Construction’s core values
- Safety
- Enforce corporate and OSHA safety policies on jobsite, providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field
- Implement proactive pre-task safety planning for all work activities
- Coordination of Shut Downs/Tie-ins
- Conduct weekly Toolbox Talks with Trades
- Quality Assurance/Quality Control
- Observe and interface with contractors or trades to monitor work performance and productivity of trades
- Enforce compliance with project schedule
- Ensure project rules and procedures are maintained
- Enforce contractors’ responsibilities and scope of work
- Oversee creation and completion of punchlist process
- Assist with any commissioning activities
- Verify that approved products are being installed on site
- Planning
- Monitor and support trade harmony, including jurisdiction compliance with local practice
- Facilitate Mechanical/Electrical overhead coordination
- Supervise, coordinate and sequence contractors’ work to minimize interference between various contractors on the project
- Develop site logistics plans for entire project with assistance to maximize productivity and minimize impacts to building occupants
- Initiate setup of a project schedule and creation of activities and logic. Maintain project schedule through updates, implementing logic modifications, and adding activities
- Mentor interns, project engineers and assistant superintendents
- Run weekly sub-contractor coordination meetings
- Prepare constructability reviews to determine completeness of documents; review details for buildability
- Assist with initiation of set up of jobsite
- Submissions of drawings to city and state agencies and inspection process leading to Certificate of Occupancy
- Attend weekly team and OAC meetings
- Document Control
- Appropriately file documentation using the project electronic filing system as it relates to field paperwork
- Assist Engineer with RFI review requests for information, including resolution of issues involving multiple trades
- Perform surveillance of contractor documents to ensure they are building from the latest document set
- Coordinate project changes with trades and contractors
- Assist with review of submittals and shop drawings. Coordinate with construction documents and field/constructability issues. Use submittals to verify work or materials in the field
- Prepare detailed and timely daily reports. Incorporate/review subcontractor’s daily reports for issues, coordination and claim avoidance
- Assist with maintenance and updating of record set of documents
- Assist Engineer with material/ submittal log to ensure timely submission by completing document review as required
- Cost Management
- Assist with management of overall budget by helping to control cost and monitoring potential changes from contractors
- Assist with management of general conditions budget
- Identify contractor changes to purchased scope
- Review contractor quotations for changes
Qualifications
- 5 year’s construction experience
- 2 years as seasoned traveler
- Project experience with interior renovations, ground-up, established malls and new mall environments, renovation work in occupied and unoccupied environments, urban and suburban work locations
