We are seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage on-site field operations across multiple project locations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires extensive travel and hands-on coordination with subcontractors, project managers, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate subcontractors and field personnel.
- Enforce all company and OSHA safety policies; ensure a clean and safe jobsite.
- Maintain project schedules and coordinate workflow to meet deadlines.
- Conduct daily reports, documentation, and communication with the project management team.
- Oversee quality control and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Participate in project meetings, site walkthroughs, and inspections.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues proactively to keep projects moving forward.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent (commercial or industrial preferred).
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and scheduling.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel nationwide for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license; clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ground-up, remodel, or tenant improvement projects.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, BuilderTrend, etc.).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
