Sabot Consulting is seeking a Project Manager to provide project management services for the Department of Justice’s IT Systems Modernization initiative. The Project Manager will oversee planning, readiness, and implementation activities for Stage 4 of the Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL), supporting modernization of DOJ’s IT systems. This role requires strong project management skills, familiarity with Project Approval Lifecycle, and experience coordinating complex IT projects in a public sector environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide project management support for IT Service Modernization, including planning, readiness, and transition to implementation.
- Develop and maintain project work plans, schedules, and management artifacts in alignment with Project Management Framework and PMBOK standards.
- Monitor and control project scope, changes, risks, and issues using DOJ-approved processes.
- Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder communications, and status reporting.
- Assist in the development of PAL Stage 4 deliverables, including readiness assessments, requirements baselines, and master schedules.
- Support Solution Integrator RFP development, evaluation, and onboarding.
- Prepare and update project repositories, tools, policies, and documentation.
- Conduct legislative analysis to assess impacts on project requirements and business processes.
- Ensure knowledge transfer and documentation for DOJ staff.
- Coordinate with DOJ management, technical teams, and vendors to ensure successful project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university (or equivalent qualifying experience).
- 5 years of broad, extensive, and increasingly responsible experience applying project management principles, methods, techniques, and tools.
- 3 years as a Senior Project Manager of large or complex IT projects.
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
- 3 years of experience developing and managing complex IT project schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Experience managing at least one 3 IT projects through successful PAL approval, with a value of at least $10 million.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and schedule management skills.
- Master’s degree or doctorate from a recognized college or university (or additional qualifying experience).
- 6 or more years of project management experience, including 4 years as a Senior Project Manager.
- 4 or more years of experience developing/managing IT project schedules in Microsoft Project.
- Experience managing 4 or more IT projects through PAL approval, each valued at $10 million .
- Familiarity with California DOJ IT systems, and legislative analysis.
- Experience supporting Solution Integrator RFPs and vendor onboarding.
Salary : $120,000 - $180,000
