We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to support cleaning operations at a busy community and recreation facility in the West Bloomfield area near the Maple Road corridor.
This position is focused on vacuuming, trash removal, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for staff, guests, visitors, and building occupants. The ideal candidate is reliable, comfortable staying active throughout the shift, and able to complete assigned cleaning duties with consistency and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine custodial duties throughout assigned areas of the facility
- Vacuum offices, hallways, common areas, activity spaces, and shared spaces using a backpack vacuum
- Remove trash and replace liners throughout the facility
- Transport collected trash to designated disposal areas
- Maintain cleanliness throughout entrances, workspaces, and shared areas
- Follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines
- Report facility concerns or supply needs to management
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, guests, and visitors
Requirements
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to wear and use a backpack vacuum during the shift
- Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic
- Ability to work independently and stay on task
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in an active, public-facing community facility
Pay: $17 per hour
