Local award-winning home builder in search of a full-time Warranty Service Coordinator to join our team. We place a lot of importance on providing exceptional quality and superior customer service. This position is a point of contact with our customers therefore outstanding customer service is highly regarded. Potential candidates must be honest, hard-working, and possess 2 years of demonstrated experience in home construction including warranty service and repair. An individual who will be successful in this role will exude a positive and friendly attitude and possess the ability to build excellent working relationships with homebuyers, prospective homebuyers, and vendors. Skills that make this a match include: a friendly personality, creative, self-starter, eye for details and responsibility. You should be someone who values building good customer relationships and enjoys working with people.

Responsibilities of position:

  • Provide excellent customer service to new and current homeowners.
  • Address issues promptly, efficiently, and in a courteous manner.
  • Assist warranty manager with day-to-day tasks.
  • Schedule and attend walk-throughs and final walk-throughs.
  • Public speaking & giving presentations.
  • Effectively handle incoming service requests via email and over the phone from homeowners in an expedient and professional manner.
  • Logging all warranty service requests received from homeowners in the computer system.
  • Immediately contact appropriate warranty service team members to respond to new service calls.
  • Interface effectively with customers, warranty staff, vendors, subcontractors, construction field supervisors, new home sales consultants and management.
  • Heavy phone and computer use.
  • Maintain data in the computer system, such as checking off completed work, entering in walk through and closing dates, etc.
  • Working with PDFs, converting them to Word, updating them, and converting them back to PDF.
  • Provide homeowners with home care information.
  • Schedule warranty team for punch, pre-punch, warranty service and rentals.
  • Conduct quality control walk-throughs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements of position:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and must have reliable transportation.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must have great references and work history.
  • Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Must have 2 years of home construction industry experience, preferably in warranty.
  • Must have HS Diploma/GED.
  • Experience in customer service required.
  • Scheduling experience preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented & able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Highly organized and flexible, with exceptional follow-up.
  • Highly creative and must work well with others.
  • Professional and comfortable dealing with all types of personalities
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills with outstanding phone etiquette.
  • Strong work ethic that can work with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • No phone reluctance in initiating calls to homeowners or team members.
  • A good sense of urgency to respond to customer calls and relay information to team members.
  • Ability to explain complex issues in a manner easily understood by industry personnel and customers with limited knowledge of construction processes or terminology.
  • Ability to work with contractors, laborers, employees at all levels, and customers with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Good problem/conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence others and manage conflict in a positive manner.
  • Able to listen empathetically and patiently and be personable with customers.

Physical Demand/Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift, move, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Driving is required in this position.

Work Hours

This is a full-time position; business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Occasional travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
